My
name is Karen, I live in
Michigan and have been an
Adkinette for 10 years.
I joined the group just as
it was getting started.
Trace caught my attention
with his first song “There’s
A Girl In Texas”. That is
when I started trying to
find out more about him.
When I heard “Every Light In
The House” is when I knew I
was hooked. I was lucky to
have a friend tell me about
this place on AOL that a
small group of ladies were
setting up a message board
in Trace’s name, so I found
my way there and haven’t
left. We have become a
family. I have been
fortunate to have seen Trace
every year and have
established a friendship
with him over the years. I
have made each of his
younger daughters’ quilts
and met his wife Rhonda and
daughter Mackenzie who the
first quilt was made for.
Trace has given me two very
memorable nights. The first
one was when he
dedicated “Rest of Mine” to
me at a concert and the
other one was when I was
able to see Trace at his bus
after a show this summer.
One of the Adkinettes sent
the picture of us and the
story of our visit to
Country Weekly
magazine who published it.
It’s not very often that you
get your “15 minutes of
fame”, but to have mine and
to share it with Trace is
pretty special and has left
a permanent smile on this
Adkinette’s face!!
